There's a long tradition of "techie" humour on the web, much of it indecipherable to non-techies, and some of it based on the stereotypical differences between techies and actors / artistic types. Whilst it is not my intention to continue the myth that techies cannot be artistic, some of the following is based on that. Sorry!
