MM was responsible for training a huge number of theatre electricians and lighting designers in the UK.
Jon, the creator of this website, trained under Maurice from 1989 to 1991, and owes him a huge debt of gratitude. This website started as a Glossary of Technical Terms, and an archive of Strand Lighting information, following on from Maurices’ love of theatre history and technical language.
His collection of lighting plans from his years at the Northcott Theatre are archived on this site in the Maurice Marshal Collection.
