Partially reopened as The Forum Studio Theatre in 2007 but closed in 2020.
The Chester Storyhouse, which finally opened in 2017, was the theatre built on the site of the Gateway. The project was delayed in 2008 due to the economic downturn and was put on hold until 2012.
