Hey everyone, Went to USH today for the "soft opening" of The Simpsons ride. Was declared by one of the employees "first general public" person to ride it! Saw the grand opening with Matt Groening, the mayor of LA, they shot a guy out of a cannon, and there was a whole grand event for those invited, they even had a yellow carpet.
The ride itself when i went on it was disappointing to me, it was cool to do something new and be on the new ride but it just made me miss Back to the Future. The ride seemed bland, the movie itself was 3D not 2D as i had original expected, which was a little weird and it seemed like it was just overlayed animation from the original BTTF ride movie (you go in maggies mouth (t rex's mouth), crash through a sign, go down a waterfall (go down lava).
I took lots of pictures, posted some right now, but hav a ton more that my friend took that he will be posting on my photobucket as well pretty soon, i also have videos if anyone wants to see.
The Props museum was suppose to open today but it didnt, there is a sign now "The Universal Experience" ,as its listed on the sign and on the new maps is "coming soon".
Went on the studio tour, was surprised to see they were, as we drove by, painting over the Amity Island sign, if you see in my pictures, it is now white. they better paint it back..

I'm still yet to see a guy get shot out of a cannon.

wow the ride looks crazy from the outside, not very universal, but very simpsons.

yeah, i didnt get any good pics of the guy out of the cannon, im sure ull find a video of it soon though on youtube.
Ill be posting a ton more pics either tonite or tomorrow.

Well, I'd like to see your vids, NFB. Can't wait for the Prop Museum to open;hopefully someone here will get some good vids (hint, hint). Thirty five years old, and still haven't made it to USH,lol. But, USH is in the loop,hopefully I'll get out there next year.I've wanted to go there since I was about 5-6 years old,lol.

Hey Bionx, ill post my vids up for you probably tonite or tomorrow. Will deffinitely take pics and vids of the new prop museum, gunna try to find out which day it will open for sure, probably this monday along with the official opening of Simpsons.
