Series 300 Wash luminaire

Vari-Lite's Series 300 system is launched with the release of the VL5 wash luminaire featuring its patented radial dichroic color changer, compact size and silent operation. Series 300 system control options make VARI*LITE luminaires available to a wider spectrum of lighting designers. Irideon Inc. is formed, bringing automated lighting techniques and technology to the architectural market through products designed specifically for use in architecture.

VL5B was designed with theatre and television in mind as the dichroic filter set was modified to produce the widest range of unsaturated colours including pinks, lavenders and a full range of cool blues. (1999)

VL5Arc The VLArc wash luminaire combines a 575W, 5600K arc lamp and a revolutionary diffusion mechanism for powerful beam brightness and superior beam control. The VARI*BEAM™ liquid lens (worldwide patents pending) technology gives you a wide range of beam angle variation, seamless beam size transitions and completely even field coverage. It uses the same dichroic color filters as the VL5 luminaire. The intensity and bold colors produced by the arc source make this luminaire well suited for long throw wash applications and collimated beam effects. (1999)
