Loïe Fuller

Loïe Fuller was a dancer, choreographer, company director and lighting designer.

This article states that Fuller innovated a number of concepts still in use today including: 

• the use of black curtains around the stage, to highlight the performer
• the colour wheel
• scenic projection
• the use of ‘specials’ for specific moments
