UK – Newcastle – Tyne Theatre

Dates: 1867 – present

Formerly the Newcastle Tyne Theatre and Opera House, before being converted into the Stoll Picture Palace, and then back into the Tyne Theatre in the 1980s (see documentary)

The theatre suffered a fire on 25th December 1985 in the backstage area, which destroyed the fly tower.
On 14th January 1986, a strong wind caused the remaining standing wall of the fly tower to fall onto the stage.
