Brian was apprenticed to Strand Electric in 1950 and described his life’s work there as Support Engineer and technical author. In retirement he was a highly-regarded and profoundly knowledgeable theatre archaeologist.

Brian was involved with the ABTT from its very first meeting in 1961. Most recently he had been a member of the Association’s Historical Research Committee.

Brian first worked on A Streetcar Named Desire (Aldwych Theatre, opened October 12 1949, directed by Laurence Olivier).
